ORC Week 4 Coastal Inspired Living Room and Dining Room Refresh at New Pair of Wings

Blue hydrangeas, fresh salty ocean air, the sound of the waves crashing into the shore. The coast is my happy place, it’s like resetting my heart beat and learning how to breathe again.

Hello friends!  Welcome to week 4 of the One Room Challenge hosted by the lovely Linda at OneRoomChallenge.com and sponsored by Better Homes and Gardens, and I’m so happy to be able to join in as one of the more than 200 guest participants!

It’s been a rough week y’all!  I’m taking a deep sigh as I say/write this and offering a quick prayer of thanks and forgiveness up to heaven. After three weeks of laying flooring Mum and I are both exhausted, our little Molly dog has been very sick, but shes on meds and I think doing a lot better now, I have a scratched eye from putting makeup on in the truck as it went over a pothole, (I wasn’t driving) and our house is still in complete chaos, which stresses us all out, but I feel gratitude to have survived it and to have the new flooring all laid and done, and so grateful for answered prayers, bodies that can still work and for mums amazing flooring whisperer talents!

The living room floors are done!

The living room floor took up our whole lives this week, so other than a few very small projects like painting the sconces and ordering some supplies to finish other projects there’s not a lot of new progress. But the floors were a huge part of this challenge and they are DONE!

Living room furniture in the dining room. Laundry piles almost as tall as mum and the whole house needs a good scrub!

Tomorrow will be mostly about worship and then maybe getting the rug and some furniture back in the living room. We decided after looking over the window seat that it wouldn’t really be a quick fix to shorten the el.  The seat is made of two boxes made elsewhere and joined together on site. So we can’t just sawzall the end off and have it still function. I’ve got a potential new furniture arrangement though and I’m looking forward to seeing how it works!

Wallpaper, pillows, window treatments, upholstery projects fabric projects galore next week!

So stay tuned friends!  Next week is week 5 and we’ll be ramping up to the big finish!  Next week will be all about wallpaper, some trim and paint, fabric projects galore and a fresh gallery wall for mums collection of paintings. I’ve been given permission to steal the old hutch hiding in mums closet and I’ve got a pretty makeover idea for that too!

Looking forward to a peaceful easy Sunday with our fur babes. Little Bailey loves his Sunday afternoon naps.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  We appreciate your being here so much more than we can express!  Have a great week dear ones!

Much love from mum and M  oxo
