ORC Weeks 4 and 5 A Little Bit Boho Outdoor Room Makeover at New Pair of Wings

Our outdoor family room is comfortable for the whole family.

Hey there all you beautiful people! Happy May!!

Welcome to weeks 4 and 5 of the One Room Challenge hosted by Linda from Calling It Home Blog and her new site One Room Challenge.com!  There are 20 featured decorators taking on the challenge of completing one room in 6 weeks!  And I’m so excited to be able to join in the challenge fun with the over 200 guest participants!  If you’re looking for decor inspiration there really is no better place to look than the One Room Challenge so be sure to go check out ALL all the talent and eye candy!

Whew!  The last two weeks have been just chock full of life and health and more life, and I even missed getting a post up last week at all, but prayer and vegetables have kept us going and mum and I are keeping on gettin er done!

Old pillow covers and throws look new again with some fresh pattern mixing.

In spite of all that life stuff happening, Mum and I have actually gotten a lot done the past couple of weeks.  The furniture is all moved, edited and in place, the couch covers have been made and put on. We decided to go ahead and order an inexpensive white couch cover for the body of the couch, because we wanted to give it some protection from the sun and elements. The summers here in Nothern California are hot and long and we love them, but they would wreak havoc on our old couch if we left part of it uncovered.  The seat and back cushion covers I made from outdoor fabric and they are water and dust proof, so they’ll dry off fast and wet swimsuits won’t ruin the cushions.

Our fur kids love to be where we are.

As you can see, I’ve gotten a lot of help while working on the pillows and figuring out color and pattern combinations.  Our fur kiddos love to be wherever we are and they are a big part of our decision making.  We do entertain and we want our guests to be comfortable and feel welcome, but 90% of the time it’s just us and our little family.  So whatever we do includes the furry kids too, and we wouldn’t want it any other way.

I’m still working out some new lighting projects and trying to keep it simple, but make it fun too. And a bit more sewing and painting and lots of tweaking coming up this week!  I expect there will be so much more prayer and brainstorming before next Thursday and I’m actually looking forward to it!

We appreciate you all so much for coming along on our life and decor journeys!  Thank you friends for stopping by!  Hope your having a great spring wherever you are!

Much love from Mum and M  oxo
