New Pair of Wings One Room Challenge Week 1- Family Room and Kitchen Makeover

Nasturtiums and daisies make for a happy spring!

Well hello there! Happy SPRING!! It’s been too long since I’ve written a blog post, almost 6 months, and I do admit it felt kind of foreign coming back in to join the spring 2019 One Room Challenge as a guest participant and start writing again!

The opportunity of the One Room Challenge to share, dream, create, build and change our living spaces within a six week span is definitely a very good thing! Thank you to Linda @ oneroomchallenge.com for your generosity in letting us join in and all of the things you do to make everything so easy for us!

So, heres our plan: I want to bring in some classic and warm design features to our family room and kitchen. I’m still toying with the idea of board and batten in the family room, so maybe, maybe not on that project, but stay tuned cause you never know!

We’re bringing in some warm wood and wood tones. I’ve got two different Minwax stain processes, spray stain and stain wipes, that are new to me, and I’m excited to see how these projects will turn out!

Our old leather chairs are getting a facelift.

We’ve got some new rugs, some pretty colors, some blue of course, and lots of textures with fabric. Our old leather chairs are getting a facelift and there will be lots of paint!

Truthfully it’s been months since we took on any DIY projects, but we’re looking forward to rolling up our sleeves, and seeing the ideas in our heads become reality and breathing some new life into our little home.

Mum and I, like just about everyone these days, have been hit with some overwhelming real life troubles the past few months, but we’ve also received some wonderful blessings and we just feel so much gratitude for all the good things!

Thank you friends so much for joining us on our DIY and life journeys! We’ll see you next week for week 2! Until then we wish you and yours the best of every good thing!

Much love from Mum and M
